Layers

31 October 2012

Love using them on my layouts! I made this layout using some of my Studio Calico stash and I played along with the Featured Layout challenge at Studio Calico. It consists of scraplifting a layout by SC member Jenkinkade.
I'm off to create some more.
Une petite page en toute vitesse. Un lift de Jenkinkade!

BOO

30 October 2012

Tomorrow is Halloween! Now, I am not a big fan of Halloween. I dislike anything horribly scary but I am starting to like it when it is in small doses. Think of me as "she who likes cute Halloween things". The kids love it and we'll will be doing our village tour tomorrow. I'll be dressing up (if I have time) as a cute scary witch. I'll be looking after the youngest kids aged 3 to 6 so I don't want to scare them off. Talking about Halloween, here are two little projects I made using some of the New PUMPKIN PATCH line from American Crafts. I made a treat bag (which I use as part of my deco) and a paper pumpkin.

And just to add to the Halloween spirit what about a song. Love this one from Pentatonix.

So once Halloween is over, I'm in Christmas mood and Christmas means December Daily. Mine will probably not be daily and I tend not to call it that either as it pressures me into taking pictures everyday and DD is supposed to be fun and a no pressure thing for me. If I get to take pictures everyday great,  if not, that won't be a big deal! So here is the cover and the inside of the cover. I kept it simple with colours I really love at the moment. Last year my DD was yellow and grey. This year it'll be aqua, grey with splashes of pink/red. I'll be working on the pages this week and hope to have it ready by next week. I'll only have to add photos, journalling and some embellishments.
Une fois Halloween terminé, il faut penser à Noël et pour moi ce là veut dire préparer mon December Daily. Voici la couverture et l'intérieur de celle-ci.

 LOVE those Thickers!!!!!

And as you can see I have added some feathers! Loving feathers lately!

Hope to see you soon and have a happy Halloween.
I am also praying for all my friends and so many other Americans that have been affected by Hurricane Sandy. Please stay safe and hope you are OKAY!

Sunny Sunday

28 October 2012

Today is the most beautiful day. It is bitter cold and temperatures dropped below freezing but the sun is shining and that is all that counts. Today I have several things to show. First some pictures of my December "Daily" 2012 stash and then a layout I made for ILS.
Aujourd'hui est une journée magnifique. Froid mais avec beaucoup de soleil et ça j'adore! Je vais vous montrer mon matos pour mon December "Daily" de cette année et aussi une petite page faite pour ILS.

FIRST: December Daily! I have picked everything I'd like to use and I'll be working on it today and tomorrow. I will have prepped all the pages so that I'll only have to add the photos, some journalling and maybe an embellishment or two. I might add a few things too, you never know! I decided to use things I have at hand. I really have enough stash and don't need more.
Material:
  1. ILS Pops of collection and Tis the season,
  2. some scraps from Echo Park,
  3. Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Paper,
  4. an American Crafts 6*8 album,
  5. a sheet of "fake" brown leather,
  6. a Hambly screen print
  7. Kringle&Co aqua thickers,
  8. letter stickers from Studio Calico, Lilybee and October afternoon,
  9. doilies,
  10. SC stars,
  11. embellishments from Kringle&Co
  12. leftover stickers from Crate Paper,
  13. washi tape, glitter ribbon from AC (Dear Lizzy 5th&Frolic), buttons, ...
  14. wood veneers,
  15. stamps (not shown): Kesi'art, Kelly Perkey,  Elle's Studio, Studio Calico,
  16. die cuts cut with cameo (not shown).
Hope to show you how it looks tomorrow or the day after!

Now on to the layout. For this ILS layout I made my own washi tape using some ILS papers. I went the easy way. Got some sticky tape out, stuck it onto the papers and went over them will a bone folder. Then I tore the tape from the paper. Loved making my own tape and will definitely do it again (maybe with the DD).
