Build-A-Flower: Poinsettia Release

2 October 2017

Hello and welcome. Today I'm sharing a project made with the brand new BUILD-A-FLOWER stamp and die set from Altenew: POINSETTIA
  • Description:
    • Poinsettias have been known to symbolize purity, good cheer, and success, but they are probably most recognized at Christmastime.  They are native to Central America and Mexico, and flower during the wintertime.  Some people even call them "Flores de Noche Buena," or "Flowers of the Holy Night."  Our gorgeous poinsettia can be stamped in four layers, and is accompanied by winter-themed sentiments.  Build-A-Flower: Poinsettia is sure to become a cherished part of your stamp collection!

You can find more inspiration on the card and scrapbook blog.

I created a little wreath to hang in our home once Christmas comes. I stamped several images using variations of reds from the RED SUNSET ink set and then cut them out. I added some green leaves from the FANTASY FLORAL DIE SET. All I had to do was place the elements onto some card that I had cut out, add a sentiment and hang it up.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a lovely week.

Altenew Stamp/Die/Re-inker Release Blog Hop Day 1 + Giveaway

27 September 2017

Welcome. If you have hopped over from Laura Jane 's blog you're right on track. Today I'm sharing a two projects I made with the new release.

My first project is a layout created with the Pattern Play Circle Stamp set. I stamped the background using some Permanent Black ink from Altenew and my 12*12 Misti. Stamping the background was easy with the Misti.

I kept the rest really simple by just adding some color and a few enamel dots. The title I made by using some washi tape which I placed onto some cardstock and ran it through the Big Shot using one of the Script Dies.

For my second projects I decided to create a card. I'm far from being a good cardmaker but I'm learning from the Altenew card design team. I used the Winter Rose stamp set and paired it with some grey and purple inks.

A blog hop is also an occasion to giveaway prizes.

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to THREE lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog by Thursday, October 5th at 11:59 pm EDT for a chance to win. The winners will be announced on the Altenew Card Blog on Saturday, October 7th.

Today the Poppy Flieds Stamp and die set is up for grabs and it is such a pretty set.

I created a layout using the set and die. The die was used as mask when stamping the flowers. I kept the layout really simple and only added a couple of die cut leaves from the Altenew Fanstasy Floral die set. For the ink colors I went with the Red Sunset set and the Green fields set from Altenew.

To finish off the layout I used some Rouge Crisp ink that I watered down and splattered over the layout.

Let's catch up ....

17 September 2017

It is always the same... the SEPTEMBER whirlwind. Getting into a new schedule, driving kids to their after school activities etc... The days fly by without me even noticing. And then just like that it is the middle of the month.

I am working on quite a few projects which will be live by the end of the month. It has been a little difficult to create these last days as I lost my Popa last Thursday a little more than 8 months after my grandma Mam passed away.

Today I'll be sharing some of my creations for Altenew and later this week I'll be back with more projects.

For my first project I used the Bold Alphabet Dies as well as the Faux veneer stamp set. I used my favourite colours and introduced lots of white.

You can watch the process video here: Look Process video

The next project was made using the Circled Sentiments set. I created 3 projects and one was a card. I really enjoyed creating this one.  The Fantasy Floral  die is so amazing. It is one of my favourite products from Altenew at the moment.

This project is also made using the Circled sentiments set and I also used the Fantasy Floral  Die again.

And the last one was made using the Fantasy Floral die,

Altenew August 2017 Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

23 August 2017

Welcome to the August 2017 release blog hop. If you have come from Laura Bassen 's blog, you are right on track.

I love this month's release as a lot of the products are FABULOUS items for scrapbooking.

To showcase the products I created this layout. I used the following sets: Charmed, Sweet Friend and Point it Out.

The layout only has two strips of patterned paper from the Reflection Scrapbook collection and I also added some enamel dots from the Card kit. All the other elements are made with stamps and ink.

You can see how the layout came together in HD on Youtube or just watch it below:

July Citrus Twist kit and just for fun ...

19 August 2017

I had a wonderful time designing for Citrus Twist but decided not to reapply. I love working for Altenew and I felt I wasn't able to do both at the same time. I made this layout just before leaving on vacation and completely forgot to share it. I love the bright colours and think they match the goofy photo perfectly.

The following two layouts I made just for fun. They really are the best layouts because the whole process is completely free. I love making my assignments but there are always constraints to take into account. When I scrapbook for fun I just go with the flow.

I'm currently working on a new blog schedule that will start in September. I hope to have at least one post a week and will be adding a couple of new themed items and challenges.

Thank you for stopping by and if you have anything you'd like to see here just pop it in the comment section.

Happy Scrapping

Build-a-flower: Anemone

15 August 2017

Every 15th of the month Altenew brings ouy their Build-a-flower stamp and die set. This month Altenew is featuring the ANEMONE.

I kept the layout really simple and stamped the flowers in grey tones using the Rock collection inks. Some touches of pink add a hint of colour and balance.
